Niagara College’s Land Acknowledgement

What is the Niagara College land acknowledgement? Why do we share it? When and how should I share it?

A Land Acknowledgement is given by non-Indigenous people and is a way to acknowledge and give thanks to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people for the land on which we live and work. It is one of the first steps towards reconciliation. The Land Acknowledgement at Niagara College has been approved by our Indigenous Education Management Circle (IEMC), a group of Indigenous leaders from community.

For more information about land acknowledgements, please visit the Indigenous Education Land Acknowledgement webpage.
