Important Update

Niagara College to postpone Fall Convocation ceremonies scheduled for October 23-24

As the province-wide full-time support staff strike enters its third week, Niagara College has made the difficult decision to postpone Fall Convocation ceremonies scheduled for October 23-24 to later in the academic year. Convocation is an important milestone that marks years of hard work and academic achievement, and Niagara College is firmly committed to ensuring that all graduating students receive a celebration and experience that truly reflects the significance of their accomplishments.

Niagara College’s convocation ceremonies are the result of months of work and planning by teams of employees across the College, including our support staff. Given the ongoing labour disruption, we would be unable to hold ceremonies this Fall that meet the high standards we’ve set for convocation ceremonies for all of our graduates.

We recognize that graduating students and their families need to arrange travel and other activities related to convocation and we are making this announcement now to provide enough time to alter or revise any plans that have been made.

Further updates will be provided as we determine new dates for our in-person convocation ceremonies – please watch your student email and niagaracollege.ca/convocation for information.
