Thursday March 28th, 2024 – 1:00 – 2:00pm

T&L Conversations are small, informal, and guided conversations akin to a book or journal club. Participants come together virtually to discuss key impressions of the selected resource and reflect on how the themes explored in the resource relate to our lived experiences as educators. Join colleagues from Niagara, Mohawk, Fanshawe, Lambton, and St. Clair Colleges in a guided conversation to discuss your insights and reflections on the following resource:

“Humanizing leverages learning science and culturally responsive teaching to create an inclusive, equitable online class climate for today’s diverse students. When you teach online, it is easy to relate to your students simply as names on a screen. But (you know) they are much more than that.”

This session will focus on an online resource offered by Michelle Pacansky-Brock, a U.S. college educator with a passion for humanizing teaching and learning. While the resource focuses on online, it is relevant for many teaching environments.   We look forward to discussing thoughts on the resource and how the topic connects to your teaching and learning practices.

The resource offers three different options for reviewing: the full version, condensed version, or text version.  Please review what resonates most with you. All of these options are available at the same link (noted above).

The session will be offered via MS Teams.  The link to join will be provided to all registrants no later than one hour before the start of the session.
