Join faculty, staff and administrators from across several Western Region colleges to discuss some of the latest, thought-provoking research in teaching and learning. Meet virtually with educators from across Ontario using the Collaborate web-conferencing platform to discuss your insights and reactions to PARTS of the following handbook:
Baik, C. et al. (2017) Enhancing Student Mental Wellbeing: A Handbook for Academic Educators. This resource is accessible via https://melbourne-cshe.unimelb.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0006/2408604/MCSHE-Student-Wellbeing-Handbook-FINAL.
The growing prevalence and severity of mental health difficulties across student populations in higher education is
an issue of significant concern for post-secondary educators. This resource provides concrete, evidence-informed recommendations to support faculty and staff in developing teaching and learning environments and practices that better support student mental wellbeing.
The resource is long (76-pages). For the purposes of this T&L Reads Conversation, we ask that you read Chapter 1 – Student Wellbeing (p3 – 14) and any ONE of the following chapters of your choosing (Curriculum Design, Teaching Strategies OR Difficult Conversations).
