Spotlight On Campus-Wide Physical Activity: Simple Strategies for Staff Engagement

Looking to become more physically active this year? Unsure of what to do or where to get started Wondering how you’ll fit physical activity into your busy life?

If you answered yes to these 3 questions, then you’ll want to join this hybrid (online/in person) discussion with NC Athletics & Student Engagement and Brett Forsey, Fitness Coordinator.

With over 20 years of experience as a Certified Personal Trainer helping individuals navigate these 3 common questions, Brett is well-positioned to meet you where you are, and excited to help you move forward.

During this engaging, conversational session, you’ll have the opportunity to see just how easily you can integrate movement into your day – even while at work!

Through visual demonstrations of simple exercises that can be done anywhere, you’ll learn how “One-minute Movement Breaks” and “Exercise Snacks” can allow you to significantly enhance your physical activity each day, without becoming overwhelmed.

That is intentional.

Because a major barrier to regular physical activity, is becoming overwhelmed. There are countless, legitimate reasons why this happens, and they directly effect staff and students right here at NC.

And yet, a simple truth remains…

All OR something, is better than all or nothing.

The purpose of the session then, is to discover those “somethings” that YOU can do on a regular basis, to yield big results!

Additionally, Brett will share examples of “somethings” that WE can do, to make physical activity/movement/exercise more easily accessible and enjoyable for students and staff.

As a participant, you are encouraged to ask questions, share examples, discuss challenges and successes and to share ideas of your own.

As a result of your participation and contributions, you can expect to the leave the session:

  • Excited about being physically active
  • Knowledgeable about what to do and how to get started
  • Confident that you will be regularly physically active
