Group work is both an opportunity and challenge in our classrooms.  How do we ensure work is distributed fairly? How do we handle conflict in groups? How do we evaluate them? In this session, we will review key considerations when setting up group work that will facilitate a positive experience for your students (and you). We will explore how to plan for a successful group assignment, what you can do to prepare students for the work, examine how you monitor the progress of your students, and discuss approaches to assessing group work. As we learn together, we will also consider the unique challenges of group work in online environments.
