Facilitating Group Work Online: Comparing Blackboard with MS Teams

At Niagara College, we have two main institutionally-supported technologies that can provide robust ecosystems for group work. Both Blackboard and Microsoft Teams allow for the creation of groups and serve to aggregate tools that support synchronous and asynchronous group collaboration.
In this session, we will review and compare group functionality within Blackboard and Microsoft Teams according to five main categories:
- Group Formation
- Group Collaboration Tools
- Group Oversight, Grading and Feedback
- Key Benefits of the Group Interface
- Key Limitations of the Group Interface
