Program Standard Update Process

Prior to Standard Revision by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities:

  • MCU (Ministry of Colleges and Universities) publishes list of programs to be updated each year.
  • MCU contacts affected colleges and asks for names of faculty and staff to be involved in the working group for developing the standard.
  • Standard is approved through the Ontario College Quality Assurance Service (OCQAS).
  • Survey is sent to all Vice Presidents Academic (VPA) to comment on implications for college delivery. (The VPA will coordinate this response with the CAE and appropriate Dean).
  • MCU informs the college about changes to the standard and provides an implantation date and attestation letter deadline. This email must be forwarded to Academic Quality and the Registrar.
