As of November 6, the CAE has become aware of an update to Blackboard that has altered the text boxes that can be used to input text, images, videos, and links into Blackboard course sites. Some functions may now be named, located, or work somewhat differently than before the update.
If you are trying to upload or attach materials, the function is now called Add Content. It is available to the right of the bottom line of tools in the text box. It looks like a plus sign in a circle. This function will also let you add a YouTube video.
If you are trying to embed a video, the process is still largely the same as in this video and this video. However, the function to put an embed code into Blackboard is now called Source Code. It is a button on the bottom line of tools that looks like this: <>. This should work for most sites that offer content that includes an embed code.
We will be updating our resources soon, but if you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please contact the CAE at [email protected].
