The CAE wants to connect you with some of the best external resources that are emerging to support online instruction. Here are four excellent ones that our Educational Developers have come across over the past week:
ACUE Online Teaching Toolkit – Includes short, user-friendly videos and downloadable information sheets on a variety of topics including welcoming students to the online environment, managing your online presence, organizing your online course, planning and facilitating quality discussions, recording effective lessons, and engaging students in readings and lessons.
Learning Online Hub for Students – Created by Ontario colleges for our students, this hub is designed to support students with staying motivated, navigating technology and studying smart. In order to give college students a place to start, this hub features a tool where students can assess themselves to see where they need the most support and to access the appropriate resources.
Graphic Online Course Organizer – Created by Western University faculty member, Nicole Campbell, this slide provides a comprehensive graphic overview of her online course features for students. The template is downloadable and licensed under the Creative Commons, so you can feel free to reuse and adapt it for your purposes. Access it at this link.
Test Randomization Resource – This pdf document guides you in carefully building a randomized test with a lot of emphasis on fairness and how to structure it well alongside the technical aspects.
