In 2020, a student in the Environmental Management and Assessment program completed a Bee Campus certification submission and Wildlife Habitat Council Certification Assessment for Niagara College as part of an Internship with the Office of Sustainability, helping to advance sustainable grounds management on campus.

Biodiesel Vehicle Business Proposal
In 2013 a student of the Environmental Management and Assessment program completed a business proposal for biodiesel Vehicles as a part of her internship with the Sustainability office. The Facilities Management Services (FMS) was looking to replace four college-owned fleet vehicles. Before making a purchase, it was important to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of implementing alternative fuel vehicles as a replacement. This business case outlines the environmental, social and economic benefits for the College as a result of the transition from gasoline to alternative fuel fleet vehicles.

Campus Waste Training
The Office of Sustainability assists in the management of the campuses' waste systems by conducting regular outreach, training, and annual waste audits for legislative compliance. Working with students a waste training module was developed to help educate and engage campus users on best practices for managing waste while on campus.

Communication Plan – A Tactical Tool Kit for the Edible Orchard
In 2015, students in the Environmental Management and Assessment program completed a Tactical Tool Kit for the Edible Orchard concept at the Welland Campus as a course-based research deliverable in the Public Relations course, developing five tactics to increased engagement with students, employees, and broader community members.
