Essentials of Workplace Communication
In this course you will develop the fundamental technical, professional, and oral communication skills required for employees in the trades. Field-related assignments will give you the necessary practice to improve these skills and familiarize you with common requirements from supervisors, clients, and industry. The course stresses the adaptation of communication strategy and style to the needs of the intended audience. Upon completion of this course, you will be more adept at analyzing real-world communication scenarios, writing clearly and concisely, developing clear prose suited to the purpose of your communication context, using research from appropriately reference sources, and communicating orally in a professional context.
