The ncLibraries and Learning Commons team has introduced a virtual Blackboard peer tutoring program to help NC students navigate the Blackboard learning environment and make the most of their online learning experience. The new program is intended to provide additional support for students by complementing the asynchronous Blackboard information available in LauNCh, a new online introductory guide for incoming students.
By connecting with a Blackboard peer tutor, students can receive assistance with basic navigation and user experience tips, including:
- Finding courses;
- Exploring course sites;
- Checking course calendars for due dates;
- Adding events to personal Blackboard calendars;
- Viewing test and assignment grades and feedback; and
- Interacting with others using Blackboard Collaborate.
The peer tutoring program runs from January 11 to January 29 with free drop-in style sessions available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
All students can access the online sessions by clicking on the “Meet with a Blackboard Tutor” button on the ncLibraries and Learning Commons website here. Further sessions will be added during the three-week period if demand is high.
