A message from Natasha Hannon, associate director, Educational Development, Centre for Academic Excellence:

I am very pleased to announce that Nicholas Contant will be joining the Centre for Academic Excellence team as an educational technologist as of Monday, January 11, 2021.

With over eight years of educational technology support experience at the post-secondary level, Nick brings a wealth of expertise in student centered learning design and the application of learning technologies to support face-to-face, blended, and online education. Nick joins us from Brock University where he worked as an educational technologist reporting to the Dean of Education. In that role, Nick provided comprehensive technological and design support to teaching staff through coaching, consultations and workshop delivery. Nick is also an advocate of accessible and engaging online design, with experience in providing course accessibility reviews and consultations around media inclusivity, content-delivery, and course layout/structure.

Nick is a graduate of Brock University with a Bachelor of Arts in Interactive Arts and Science, and a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning.

Please join me in extending a heartfelt welcome to Nick as he begins his new role at Niagara College. Nick is a tremendous addition to the NC community and his expertise will expand our ability to support innovative, applied education.

A special thanks to Nadia Gugliotta, Nathanial Taylor, Cole Hayes and Jenn Martin for their contributions and input throughout the recruitment and interview process.

Nick, we are very excited to welcome you to NC!
