YourTV reported on Niagara College’s Signature Chef Series held on October 5, featuring special guest Chef Eric Martinez, Executive Chef at the World Centre Marriott.
The segment includes footage of the event at NC’s Daniel J. Patterson Campus, showcasing Culinary and Hospitality students preparing and working at the event.
Craig Youdale, Dean of Culinary, Tourism and Beverage Studies, introduced the event, saying, “These events give us a chance to not only bring in our community but most of all, for all these amazing students you see in and around this event, getting an amazing hands-on experience and seeing all the College has to offer.”
Chef Martinez was also interviewed in the segment, discussing his favourite elements of the event, emphasizing the opportunity to work closely with NC students and provide industry guidance. “This event obviously is fantastic, but for me, the biggest thing is working with the students… hearing about [their] stories, where they’re coming from and what brought them here… to be able to do that and help them a little along the way is probably the most rewarding thing in taking part in this event.”
He also praised the college, saying, “I’ve been to a lot of culinary schools around the world, and by far, these are the best students and this is the best culinary school, bar none.”
