The World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics (WFCP) has announced the finalists for its 2026 Awards of Excellence and a Niagara College educator has made the list.
Nursing professor and Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program coordinator Dr. Holldrid Odreman has been named as a finalist in the Outstanding Educator Award category.
The WFCP’s Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding contributions to technical and vocational education and training around the world. This year’s finalists represent institutions and individuals who are advancing innovation, inclusion, sustainability, global engagement, student achievement, and leadership across the TVET sector.
All finalists will receive an award – either at the Gold, Silver or Bronze level – during a ceremony at 2026 World Congress, taking place in Nairobi, Kenya from November 23 to 27. Read the full announcement on the WFCP website.
Dr. Odreman is an inspirational leader and mentor within NC’s Myhal School of Nursing. His significant contributions to teaching excellence, including his emphasis on evidence-based curriculum, innovative learning technology, and student-focused research, are shaping best practices in nursing education across the globe.
This international recognition comes on the heels of Dr. Odreman’s national 2026 Silver Leadership Excellence Award for Faculty from Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan). The prestigious award recognized his leadership in training future nurses to be compassionate, confident and resilient healthcare providers who will go on to fill critical industry gaps in the Niagara region, across Canada and beyond.
