NC Knights announce new golf and women’s basketball coaches

Niagara College is pleased to announce the appointment of two new coaches to the Niagara College Knights athletics program: Keveshan Padachey as head coach of the women’s basketball team and J.J. Alexander as head coach of the golf team.

Both coaches bring extensive experience, strong ties to the sport community, and a passion for athlete development that will support the continued growth and success of Knights athletics.

Keveshan Padachey: Women’s Basketball Head Coach

Keveshan Padachey joins the Knights women’s basketball program with a well-rounded background as both a former student-athlete and experienced coach.

Padachey began his playing career at Bill Crothers Prep before continuing at Niagara College, where he earned OCAA All-Rookie Team honours, contributed to a bronze medal finish in the 2018-19 season, and received a CCAA National Scholar Award, recognizing both his academic and athletic excellence.

Following his playing career, Padachey transitioned into coaching at both the collegiate and high school levels.

Beyond basketball, Padachey is a secondary school teacher with the District School Board of Niagara (DSBN), a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, and a high-performance specialist. He is also the founder of PACK Performance, where he works with athletes to help them elevate their training, development, and competitive readiness.

J.J. Alexander – Golf Head Coach

J.J. Alexander brings more than two decades of experience in the golf industry to the Knights golf program and has been a Class A Professional with the PGA of Canada since 2008.

Known for his commitment to player development at all levels, Alexander focuses on strengthening fundamentals, improving course management, and supporting long-term growth for golfers of varying skill levels.

He currently works with golfers at the Niagara National Golf Club, where he also leads the men’s league program. Additionally, he delivers instructional clinics and private lessons at the Sawmill Golf Club.
