In a recent St. Catharines Standard article, reporter Victoria Nicolaou interviewed Dr. Fay Lim-Lambie, NC’s Vice-President, Academic, about the College’s new partnership with George Brown Polytechnic to expand learning opportunities for students.
The colleges are exploring collaboration in academic programs, student supports, research, and shared facilities, with a focus on student success.
Lim-Lambie is quoted in the article stating, “The entire partnership itself is really founded, the anchor, was really around student success… First and foremost, it’s designed around how we can provide students an opportunity to learn and grow in two regions of Ontario that are so diversely different.”
The article highlights that the collaboration builds on previous work co-hosting the Ontario Wine Awards and could include health care, hospitality, and culinary programs, as well as pathways from NC diplomas to degrees or applied master’s programs at George Brown.
“Creating those opportunities for students to have learning that not only reflects real world, but also exposes them greater to the interdisciplinary approach to higher education,” said Lim-Lambie.
