While the world tunes in to watch the top athletes at the 2026 Winter Olympics, a group of talented Niagara College alumni are making sure the world can see them.

Grads from NC’s Broadcasting – Radio, Television and Film (BRTF) program are working behind the scenes at the Olympic Games in Milano Cortino, Italy, handling cameras, sound, visual effects, operations, and more across many venues.

They include:

  • Greg Otterbein (2012)
  • Austin Munday (2013)
  • Kristyn Taras (2017)
  • Kianna Klauck (2017)
  • Daniel Compton (2017)
  • John Kitiwano (2019)

Many of the alum are Olympics veterans, covering Beijing, Sochi, and Paris in recent years.

“While the world’s best athletes chase medals, Niagara College alum will undoubtedly bring excellence to the production,” said Dutch Vandenberg, BRTF Program Coordinator. “The sheer fact that our grads are contributing to one of the biggest broadcasts in history is a testament to their training, talent and work ethic – we’re so proud of our Knights.”

Events kick off with opening ceremonies on February 6.
