The Niagara College Student Administrative Council (NCSAC) is gearing up for their 2025 General Elections, with nomination season just around the corner. As we approach the holiday period, it’s a great time to start thinking about the next generation of student leaders who will help shape the NC experience in the year ahead.

NCSAC is asking NC employees to help identify emerging student leaders in their classrooms, labs, and workspaces and encourage them to consider self-nominating. These roles offer students the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to NC student life, develop leadership and governance skills, and represent the voices of their peers across the College.

Nomination Period

Students interested in joining the NCSAC Board of Directors can submit their nominations February 2-13 through the online form at ncvotes.ca.

New web page: To support prospective candidates, NCSAC has launched a new “Learn about your elections” page at ncvotes.ca/yourelections, featuring an informative video and an overview of what it means to serve on the Board. These resources replace the in-person information sessions held in previous years.

Requirements

To qualify as a candidate:

  • Board of Directors: 50 student signatures
  • President (if required): 100 student signatures

Voting

Students will cast their votes March 16-20 using NC’s online voting platform. Individual ballots will be emailed directly to all eligible students.

Election results will be posted on ncvotes.ca and shared on NCSAC’s social media channels.

About the NCSAC Board of Directors

Twelve director positions are available, one representing each school of study at NC. Board members collaborate closely with their Associate Deans and academic areas while also contributing to College-wide initiatives led by NCSAC. Their role involves advocacy, governance, and enhancing the student experience across the College.

More details about the role and its benefits are available at ncvotes.ca/yourelections.

NC Board of Governors Student Governor

The Student Governor position offers an opportunity to contribute to conversations that shape the strategic direction of NC. Student Governors provide insight from the student perspective at Board meetings and help ensure the student voice is represented in decision-making.

Questions about the Student Governor position can be directed to Michelle Goulet at [email protected].

Students who are passionate about contributing to student life, strengthening the campus community, and gaining hands-on experience in governance are encouraged to explore this year’s election opportunities.
