Steph Vivier from CKTB conducted an interview on Project Brew, an event that showcases the skills and learning of students in the Brewmaster and Brewer Operations program.

“I always love catching up with Niagara College, they continue to innovate and find unique ways for their students to learn and grow,” Vivier said, highlighting Project Brew as a longstanding opportunity for students to demonstrate what they’ve been learning in their studies.

Vivier interviewed student Ken Mann, who shared his experience transitioning from a career in broadcast journalism to studying brewing at NC. Mann also previewed his beer, “Around the Campfire,” an English porter-style beer that will be featured at the festival.

Craig Youdale, Dean of Culinary, Tourism and Beverage Studies, shared the history and purpose of Project Brew:
“We wanted to create an event for students so they could understand the sale of beer, running an event, and provide a space where the community could experience the work the students do.”

He added that the event gives students insight into the business side of brewing: “It gives them the chance to work face-to-face with customers, connect with them, and create a product that excites them while understanding how the sales point works.”
