YourTV: Niagara College Pediatric Fine Motor Development Clinic supports students and local children

YourTV aired a segment on NC’s Pediatric Fine Motor Development Clinic, which provides hands-on learning opportunities for students while addressing a pressing need for occupational therapy services for local children.

Kate Carnegie interviewed Sarah Cole, Registered Occupational Therapist and Professor, and Dr. Sinéad McElhone, Dean of Health Sciences at NC.

Cole discussed how the clinic gives students hands-on experience while helping children develop fine motor skills, including those with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.

“This clinic provides our students with invaluable hands-on experience, while allowing children to gain confidence and develop skills that will support their success,” said Cole.

Dr. McElhone discussed the College’s upcoming health sciences expansion: “Our vision with this program and the upcoming health sciences expansion is to create a bright, welcoming space where students can learn and the community can access quality health services.”
