Ahead of National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, the Student Rights and Responsibilities Office (SSRO) is hosting a workshop on Thursday, December 4 at 3 p.m. to engage men and boys on gender-based violence.

Zoey James, Senior Program Manager of White Ribbon will facilitate a one-hour hybrid workshop designed to foster understanding about the root causes of gender-based violence (gender norms and expectations) and ways individuals can prevent it.

The workshop will explore the history and work of White Ribbon and introduce approaches to building allyship: understanding emotions, healthy masculinities, identifying one’s power and privilege, consent, ways to intervene when violence occurs, and how to be a positive role model to youth/adults. Students and employees are encouraged to participate.

This event is hosted in collaboration between the SRRO, Community Relations and Events, and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
