NC recognizes Hindu and Lebanese Heritage months this November

The month of November marks both Hindu Heritage and Lebanese Heritage Months in Canada, a time to celebrate and recognize of the important contributions of these two distinct groups on the social, economic, political and cultural fabric of our country.

Hindu Heritage Month

Diwali, the largest celebratory event for the Hindu community, is observed in either October or November depending on the cycle of the moon. In 2025, Diwali was celebrated on October 20.

Lebanese Heritage Month

In recognition of Lebanese Independence Day (Nov 22, 1943), the Government of Canada designated November as Lebanese Heritage Month in 2023. The month recognizes the meaningful contributions Lebanese Canadians have made to Canada’s social, economic, political, and cultural fabric. Lebanese Heritage Month is an opportunity to remember, celebrate and educate future generations about Lebanese Canadians and their continuing role in helping to foster growth, prosperity, and innovation throughout Canada.
