Niagara College’s Student Engagement team is excited to announce the re-launch of its official podcast, Go to College They Said, now reimagined as a podcast for students, by students.

“The goal of the podcast has always been to help students feel connected and supported,” said Ali Weir, Manager of Student Engagement. “By shifting to a peer-to-peer format, we’re creating a platform where authentic stories, advice, and experiences can be shared in a way that resonates most with students.”

The new season introduces a fresh segment, “Mairin meets…”, led by student host Mairin Alao, a third-year Broadcasting student at NC. Each episode will feature a new guest as Mairin dives into conversations about NC Life, student experiences, and navigating the college journey.

The first episode, “Mairin meets…Hish,” has been recorded and is now available to listen. It features Niagara College Student Administrative Council (NCSAC) President Hish Clifford, as he and Mairin reflect on their early days at NC, share memories of Orientation, and discuss the excitement and challenges of starting college.

Recorded and edited on campus by Mairin herself, the podcast will highlight timely themes tied to the academic year and what is most relevant to the student experience, from adjusting to college life and making connections, to discovering services, supports, and opportunities to get involved.

Future guests and topics are in the works, with Mairin taking the lead in shaping conversations that reflect what matters most to students at NC.

The podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other major podcast platforms. Listen to episodes here:
