The Georgia Straight: Profile on alumnus-owned Vancouver restaurant

The Georgia Straight recently profiled Peya, a Vancouver restaurant offering French-Indian cuisine, where NC alumnus Ashwani Dabas (General Arts and Science, and Hospitality and Tourism Management, 2013) serves as head chef and co-owner.

Born in New Delhi, Dabas hadn’t originally planned for a culinary career. He was set on earning an MBA in the U.S., but when his visa application was denied, he pivoted and enrolled at NC instead. After completing his studies, he moved west to Vancouver and began his culinary career.
