Niagara College’s Alumni Relations team hosted its second annual Employee Alumni Summer Celebration, welcoming NC employees who are also proud alumni for an evening of connection, celebration and college pride.

Held at the Wine Visitor + Education Centre at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the event drew more than 50 NC employee alumni who enjoyed a delicious food spread crafted by fellow alumnus Chef Steve Glintz (Cook II Apprenticeship – Basic, 2008; Advanced, 2009) and live music by local musician Abe Bergsma.
“This event is such a meaningful way to bring our alumni colleagues together,” said Jana Boniferro, Director of Alumni Relations. “It celebrates the important role alumni play in the NC community and highlights the pride, connection and commitment they continue to bring to the College every day.”
President Sean Kennedy greeted guests at the event with a warm welcome, highlighting how NC’s alumni community is what makes the College truly unique.

President Sean Kennedy joined to welcome guests to the event.
“What sets NC apart is the number of our own alumni who work at the College,” he said. “I think it helps to demonstrate our NC DNA in so many different ways. You all bring your experiences as students to help our students and the College every day.”
Vice-President of Advancement, Gord Arbeau followed with a thank you to all employee alumni for taking part in the celebration, and for the ongoing support they show at alumni events throughout the year that help strengthen NC’s unique alumni community.
“Thanks to all of you for contributing to the vibrancy and excitement that is NC,” he said.

Arbeau also reminded attendees of the Employee Alumni Scholarship of Excellence, which offers NC employees and alumni the opportunity to give back and support current NC students. The fund aims to raise $25,000 to permanently endow at least one student scholarship in perpetuity, providing a $1,000 annual contribution to support a student in financial need.
“We’ve had some great support from colleagues in this group, and we invite you to continue supporting the scholarship this year,” said Arbeau.
A special thanks went out to NC’s Alumni Relations team for organizing such a meaningful event: Director of Alumni Relations Jana Boniferro, Alumni Engagement Officer Tom Price, and Alumni Engagement Coordinator Diana Dusome.
