Culinary Management graduate Quentin Petkovich will join one of his former NC professors in the Benchmark kitchen on March 22 as a featured alumnus for A Chef’s Journey with Oscar Turchi.
InsideNC checked in with Petkovich and asked about his career since graduating, his involvement with the College dinner series and more. Here is what he had to say:
NC program
Culinary Management (Co-op), 2018
Hometown and current city
Niagara Falls born and raised.
Current role
I’m currently opening a mobile pizza food truck called, “The Crust By Q.”
A Chef’s Journey involvement
I am very excited to reconnect with all my chefs from Niagara College. It’s a very motivating environment to be in and was some of the best years of my life.
Chef Oscar was one of my first teachers at the college.
Career highlights
Winning Skills competitions when I was in culinary school; and working at Pearl Morrisette for a few years, now it’s known among the best restaurants in Canada!
Career inspiration
I pursued this career path because, growing up, food always brought my family together – from lamb/pig roasts to making soppressata, canning fresh ripe tomatoes from the summer, and preserving baby gold peaches in August.
Words of wisdom
Keep pushing through the tough times and you’ll see the finish line.
