The three Niagara dailies (Niagara Falls Review, St. Catharines Standard and Welland Tribune) reported that Asahi Kasei Battery Separator Canada is leasing office space at NC’s Walker Advanced Manufacturing Centre at the Welland Campus while the company’s Port Colborne manufacturing facility is being built. Once up and running, the Japanese-based company’s new Hipore wet-process lithium-ion separator manufacturing facility – the first in North America – will bring more than 300 full- or full-time equivalent highly skilled, well-paying jobs to the region.
