Celebrate the UN’s Decade of African Descendants: Join NC’s community art project

A new art installation at NC’s Welland Campus will feature the creativity and perspectives of Black students and employees.

Nadine Williams, Black poet and artist from Niagara, will host a workshop on January 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. for students and employees to co-create a quilt for the UN’s Decade of African Descendants.

The quilt will feature a collection of sketches, quotes, and poetry from members of the NC community, The workshop is a great opportunity for Black students and employees to co-create a piece of art that will be unveiled on February 20 and displayed at the Welland Campus.

The project is a collaboration between Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Planning, Capital Projects and Sustainability, and the Libraries and Learning Commons.
