Exploring Asian Cuisine Pop-up: November 12 & 15 @ Culinary lobby from 11:30 a.m. until supplies last

Our Culinary students are cooking up some delicious Asian-style dishes for the Exploring Asian Cuisine Pop-up.

Santa Clause Market: International Bakery Pop-up

Join our talented Baking & Pastry Arts students as they showcase their skills and creativity at a unique international bakery pop-up event!

For their final capstone project, students have designed a menu inspired by the culinary delights of various countries.

The Santa Clause Market will take place on December 11, from 2 – 4 p.m., at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus Courtyard (weather permitting).

Don’t miss this opportunity to savour a wide array of global flavors, all crafted with the passion and expertise of our talented students!

Global Food Tour

Embark on a culinary adventure at the annual Global Food Tour Reception! Join us in at the Daniel J. Patterson courtyard for a delightful exploration of flavours from around the world, all prepared by our talented Culinary students.

Savour a diverse range of mouthwatering dishes as our students showcase their cooking and hospitality skills at 12 unique food stations, each highlighting a different culture.

In-Lab Receptions

Join our Culinary students in their lab for a unique culinary experience at our Food Station event! All dishes will be proudly crafted by our CULN 1400 students under the guidance of their Chef Professors. Guests will have the opportunity to witness our culinary students in action as they prepare an array of small-bite dishes, sharing insights into their creative process at various live-action stations!

Final Exam Lunch and Dinners

Join our Culinary students for their final exam service as they prepare a five-course tasting menu, highlighting their hard work and dedication.

The Final Exam Lunch and Dinners offer guests a unique opportunity to join students in real-time for their final exam assessment. Guests will dine in a banquet setting, acting as real customers to taste and critique the students’ dishes, while chef professors will oversee and evaluate their performance throughout the event.

Menu options include:

Option 1 – Chef Tasting Menu:

  • Chef’s Bread Selection with Butter
  • 100 Metre NC Grown Salad with Carrot Puree, Seeds and Oats, Red Wine Vinaigrette
  • Tomato Bisque with Seafood Ravioli, Rainbow Tomatoes, Sea Asparagus
  • Surf and Turf featuring Wood-Fired AAA Beef Tenderloin, Canadian Lobster Tail, Pommes Berny, Quinoa Pea Tart, and Canadian Whiskey Sauce
  • Maple Niagara Nut Tart

Option 2 – Chef Wellness Menu (Vegetarian):

  • Chef’s Bread Selection with Butter
  • 100 Metre NC Grown Salad with Carrot Puree, Seeds and Oats, Red Wine Vinaigrette
  • Tomato Bisque with Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli, Hot House Vegetables
  • King Mushroom “Steak” with Pommes Berny, Pea Tart, and Canadian Whiskey Sauce
  • Apple Tatin with Salted Caramel and Sponge Toffee Crumble

Benchmark Buffet in Support of United Way

Benchmark will host a buffet lunch on November 13 in support of the NC’s United Way workplace campaign, NC Cares in a Million Ways Campaign.

From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., you can purchase lunch prepared by NC Culinary Arts students at NC’s Benchmark Dining Room located at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The meal offered will be buffet-style for a cost of $25.

100% of proceeds will contribute to the NC Cares in a Million Ways United Way campaign.

Menu includes:

  • Rogan Josh (curried meat dish originating from Kashmir)
  • Murgh Makhani (Butter Chicken)
  • Channa Dal (Bean Curry)
  • Pork Adobo (Filipino pork slices cooked in soy sauce, vinegar, and garlic)
  • Thai Green Curry (Fresh and herbal Thai inspired curry with chicken)
