Securing your office, workspace, and belongings
A reminder to the NC community to secure your belongings and do not risk leaving personal items unattended.
Employees are encouraged to lock their individual or shared office when left unattended, or lock belongings in a drawer or cabinet, even for short breaks, to mitigate loss and potential risks.
Bike to campus? Protect your bike from theft by registering your bike with the Niagara Regional Police Service and using a high-quality lock.
How to report suspicious activity
See something suspicious? Report it to security staff by visiting their office, located in S120 at the Welland Campus and W110 at the NOTL (DJP) campus; or. dialing 905-735-2211 extension 6999.
In an emergency, always dial 911 first.
Urgent notification system, NC Alert
NC Alert is an opt-in service that allows the college to quickly send important messages via email, SMS text, and the student NC Mobile app.
Messages may include campus closures due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances or emergencies.

Emergency preparedness training
While Niagara College is safe, we know that incidents and emergencies can happen anywhere at any time, including on our campuses.
To empower you to be prepared, NC offers Emergency Preparedness Training – five online video training modules so you know what to do in various emergencies. Completing the modules is mandatory for all employees and strongly recommended for students.
Mobile Safety app
The free, NC Mobile Safety app gives you quick access to Campus Security.
Easily send your location and a photo with the single tap of a button. Access the FriendWalk service (real-time tracking), Work Alone program, Safe Walk program, emergency toolbox, campus maps and more.
