What did a group of about 40 employees of E.S. Fox Limited who gathered on October 3 have in common? They all graduated from NC!
NC Alumni Relations invited E.S. Fox employees who graduated from the College to an event at the company’s Niagara Falls location. The group had an opportunity to connect with representatives from their alma mater and members of the NC alumni community from their workplace.
The event also drew alumni from the company’s Hamilton and Port Robinson locations. Alumni who attended were graduates from various program areas, from Human Resources to Mechanical Engineering and more.
Jana Boniferro, Alumni Relations Director, noted that they not only did they meet with alumni, but with those who have multiple NC connections, such as those who graduated from more than one NC program, alumni whose children attend NC, and even an employee planning to begin an online business course in January.
“It was really evident how integrated NC is in their lives. The energy, culture and enthusiasm were all palpable,” said Boniferro. “They are celebrating their ninetieth year in business and are really embedded in the communities they serve.”
E.S. Fox Limited, recognized as Canada’s preeminent multi-trade industrial, commercial, institutional and energy constructor and fabricator, currently employs about 50 NC graduates in the Niagara area.
The event is part of an initiative from Alumni Relations to engage with employers in the community and to meet alumni where they work to see firsthand where their NC experience has led them.
In May, an event was also held at Niagara Health to engage with alumni in the healthcare sector during National Nursing Week [view May 10 article here].
