A message from Leo Tiberi, Dean, Media, Trades and Technology:
I am pleased to announce that Darrell Clarke will join the College as the Associate Dean in the School of Trades.
Darrell comes to NC with 30 years’ experience in postsecondary education as a professor, campus administrator, and most recently, as Chair of Cambrian College. Prior to Cambrian, he held the position of Campus Administrator at the Placentia Campus, College of the North Atlantic for 16 years. Darrell brings a passion for education, skills development, and advancing the achievements of youth, apprentices and adult learners.
Darrell has participated on and supported committees for various aspects of Skills Newfoundland and Labrador, Skills Sudbury, Skills Canada, and the Jill of all Trades Program. He has also developed a Youth Exploring Trades Program in Newfoundland and Labrador and partnered with the Women Resources Development Council in building and supporting an Orientation to Trades and Technology Program for Women. Darrell has been very active on boards and committees, as well as international capacity building in Jamaica, Barbados, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and India.
Darrell holds a Master of Science and a Master of Postsecondary Educational Leadership and is a life-long learner, recently completing the Leadership Excellence Program through The College Centre. He is also the graduate of the Chair Academy, a global leadership development academy for leaders in Higher Education.
As a senior leader, Darrell believes in being visible both inside and outside the organization, participating in groups and committees, and engaging with students and the broader community. Darrell believes that the potential for College education and training in Ontario and in Canada is enormous. He looks forward to joining Niagara College and helping to lead and develop the School, it’s faculty and staff, and supporting our students.
His first day is August 19.
