I am thrilled to announce a new team member and some organizational shifts in Global Business Development as of July 29.
Team member addition
Gabriela Facchini
Gabriela Facchini has accepted the position of Global Business Development Manager (GBDM) for the Americas and Caribbean.
Gabriela has more than 30 years of experience in the international education industry. She spent over 20 years in the private sector as Director of Operations for a four-campus English as a Second Language (ESL) school before transitioning to the public sector. There, she worked as a GBDM for four years at Georgian College and eight years at Sheridan College. In these roles, Gabriela managed regions including the Americas, the Caribbean, Europe, and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries. She was also a board member of Languages Canada for five years.
Holder of an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from York University, Gabriela is an active language learner. Fluent in English and Spanish, she has a working knowledge of French and Italian. She has a deep passion for learning about language, culture and student success.

Team members with new roles
Eric Jin
Eric Jin has accepted the role of Associate Director, Direct International Student Recruitment.
A familiar face to many, Eric is a graduate of Niagara College’s Motive Power program and an experienced GBDM for Southeast Asia, Japan, Vietnam and Korea for over ten years at NC. Additionally, he recently completed his degree in Business as part of his dedication to continuous learning.
Passionate about student success, Eric applies a creative and dedicated approach to supporting global learners. His innovative student advisement and recruitment strategies led to the Niagara College Canada Worldwide Application Days, a five-day live event offering 222 non-stop sessions and 111 straight hours of coverage in collaboration with both internal and external partners. This type of effort to ensure students had the most accurate information possible was a demonstration of NC’s commitment to student awareness and the strength of how we all work together to support student success

Derek Gaudet
Derek Gaudet is the Acting Global Business Development Manager for Europe, Russia, CIS countries and Turkey until further notice.
Derek is also a graduate of Niagara College’s International Commerce and Global Development program and was one of the first Be World Ready participants. After graduating, he moved to Colombia, where he remained for ten years, but always with NC and its global impact being a part of him. Having worked as a Global Business Development Officer based in Colombia for years. In June 2023, Derek transitioned to support the college as the GBDM for the Americas and Caribbean.
Nguyen Le (June)
Nguyen Le (June), Global Business Development Manager for East Asia and the Middle East, will also be the Acting GBDM for Southeast Asia until further notice.
June began her journey with Niagara College in 2018, as a Global Business Development Officer in Vietnam, a role she held for five years before moving to Canada as an international student to advance her education in Business Management. In January 2024, June brought her experience and dedication back to Niagara College by stepping into the position of GBDM for East Asia and the Middle East.
