On July 22, the three Niagara dailies (Niagara Falls Review, St. Catharines Standard and Welland Tribune) released an article announcing that Niagara College’s Teaching Distillery won four medals at U.S. Open Whiskey and Spirits Championship.
The college also captured silver and bronze — and finished third in the spirits distilleries category, just behind Oxford Oaks Distillery in North Carolina and Dayton Barrel Works Artisan Distillery in Ohio.
The article quotes Head Distiller David Dickson from NC’s media release: “It’s really exciting for us to get the chance to submit these projects (for judging) because it really speaks to the hard work of the students and all the time we spend together developing these products.”
