YourTV released a June 20 segment on Niagara College’s Spring 2024 Convocation ceremonies that celebrated a record 5,500 graduates.
Hosted by Bob Romeo, the segment features highlights from the June 15 ceremony celebrating graduates from the School of Nursing and Personal Support Worker programs. It also includes snippets from the June 10, 12, and 13 ceremonies, showcasing Honorary Award recipient Wendy Wing, Distinguished Alumni recipient Dave Labbé, and Governor General Academic Medal recipient Becky Sciliberto.
In the segment, President Sean Kennedy discussed the diversity of programs at Niagara College that help address various industry needs.
“We have over 300 programs, and convocation gives us a chance to celebrate all of those programs. For me, it’s always a reminder of the breadth of programs we have… and this morning with our graduate nursing programs, I know that every one of those students is in high demand in the health sector as we try to do our part in helping solve the health human resource crisis.”
NCSAC President Dipal Patel, a recent graduate, shared her feelings about participating in the ceremonies:”You see a part of yourself in every student that crosses the stage.”
The segment also featured Becky Sciliberto’s speech delivered at her convocation ceremony, who emphasized that “generosity through kindness goes a long way.”
