On June 1, the three Niagara dailies (Niagara Falls Review, St. Catharines Standard and Welland Tribune) published an article about the disbanding of the Mack School of Nursing alumni association, which was established in 1901.
The school trained more than 1,800 nurses over the next 73 years, until all hospital-based nursing schools — including Mack — were moved to community college. The name changed in 1974 to the Mack Training School and the program continued running at Niagara College.
