A message from Leo Tiberi, Dean, Media, Trades and Technology:
I am delighted to announce that Alan Noble will join the College as the Academic Labs Manager in the School of Trades.
Alan comes to NC with more than 15 years of proven technical leadership experience as Maintenance Supervisor at the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation where he was responsible for leading a diverse team of tradespeople in the safe and efficient maintenance of the locks, lift bridges and other complex systems integral to operations of the Welland Canal. He has also worked as a Millwright/Pipefitter at T.R.W. Linkage and Suspension Division and as a Millwright/Marine Mechanic for Marsh Engineering.
While working at the Seaway, Alan was awarded the prestigious Bob Swenor Corporate Award in 2019 for developing and maintaining a skilled, versatile and engaged workforce. He was also awarded the Continuous Improvement Award in 2018 for the development of new maintenance strategies and process streamlining.
Alan has served in active duty in the Canadian Armed Forces-Naval Division as a Maine Engineer (Petty Officer 2nd Class), where he was responsible for training and supervising assigned engineering personnel.
For the past two years Alan has been a part-time Professor at Niagara College guiding Industrial Millwright Mechanic students through their apprenticeship training.
Alan holds a Marine Engineering Technologist Advanced Diploma from St. Lawrence College and an Integrated Machinery Controls Technician Certificate from the Technical University of Nova Scotia. He also has Trade Certifications as Industrial Millwright- Inter-provincial and 4th Class Power Engineer.
His first day is April 8, 2024.
