A friendly reminder from NC’s Give Back Committee that there’s still time to participate in the initiatives below. Gift donations will be accepted until December 11.

Adopt a family

Each year, the Give Back Committee supports NC student families in need by accepting offerings of children’s gifts, clothing and food to ease the strain of the holiday season.

Please contact Valerie Regehr (Test Centre Coordinator, Libraries and Learning Commons) at [email protected] to inquire.

Give a gift to a child

Christmas trees have been placed in the Libraries at both campuses. Each tree is filled with ornaments that represent children in need from our NC student families. Each ornament features the age and gender of a child in need. Choose an ornament and purchase a gift for that child – NC families are identified on the back of the ornament. Attach the child’s ornament to your unwrapped gift and place it back under the Christmas tree.

Gift donations must be made by Monday, December 11.

Thank you for your kindness and support.

Culinary pop-up collecting toys on Dec. 11

Toy donations for the “give a gift to a child” initiative will also be collected at a culinary pop-up hosted by the School of Culinary Arts on December 11 from 11:30 a.m. until supplies last.

The “Classic Italian Pasta Day” pop-up with Chef Tony de Luca and Chef Isa Mottiar will feature a mouthwatering menu including three different pasta entrees at a cost of $8 each. The pop up will take place in the lobby of the NC Culinary Arts Cafe at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Any toys received will be gifted to the families identified on the remaining tags found on the Christmas trees in the Libraries.
