A September 29 article by the three Niagara dailies (the St. Catharines Standard, Niagara Falls Review and Welland Tribune) reported on Niagara municipalities responses to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
The article highlights that in June, council approved an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy (EDI) developed in collaboration with the Fort Erie Diversity and Inclusion Coalition, and that a group of Niagara College students were engaged to look at best practices on implementation, which will guide the results of a multi-year work plan coming back to council this fall.
