A new podcast series is turning up the volume on the great things happening at Niagara College.
The College Drop-In, a collaboration between NC and the City of Welland, aims to spotlight the College, its people, programs, services and research initiatives, while focusing on the role the College plays within the Welland community and beyond.
College Drop-In is a series within a series under the City’s What’s Up, Welland? podcast. Episodes will feature guests from different areas of the College who will share the mic with podcast hosts Marc MacDonald, Manager, Corporate Communications, and Paul Orlando, Economic Development Coordinator, from the City of Welland.
The podcast kicked off on August 22 with NC President Sean Kennedy, who talked about the College’s welcoming, trailblazing and passionate qualities. President Kennedy also shared recent college highlights, including record employee hiring, facility upgrades as part of NC’s multi-year Master Plan, and point of pride initiatives related to NC’s Strategic Plan, such as the EDI blueprint that is supporting a culture of inclusion and belonging at the College.

Behind the scenes, a current NC Business – General student has been working on the podcast project. In his role as Graphic Design Student with the City of Welland, Javier Carranza designed the College Drop-In graphic (pictured above). Carranza, who is originally from Honduras, was also tasked with redesigning the What’s Up, Welland? Season 2 graphic to align with the City’s new corporate brand.
Stay tuned for future episodes of the College Drop-In, including a conversation with Neil Wilkinson from NC Research and Innovation dropping later this month.
