A message from Michele O’Keefe, Director, Athletics and Student Engagement:
It is with a heavy heart that I’m announcing Ray’s retirement. With the college at least 44 years, Ray has left his imprint on every facet of Niagara College Athletics & Recreation. He has given his blood, sweat and tears to our Knights program. As he rides off into the sunset, we must all recognize and appreciate the work that Ray has done to build this program to the incredible reputation we all enjoy.
His support and contributions to the OCAA and CCAA have been made without hesitation and his love of sport, not just volleyball, has given Ray the right recipe to be successful.
I’ve been fortunate enough to know Ray since I was a teenager (just a couple of years ago) and when we became work colleagues at Niagara College, I knew all along that there was no one else who would bleed blue the way he has. His support of me, personally, has meant the world.
While his retirement is effective June 30th, his last day will be in May. We will be planning a celebration, so please stay tuned for that announcement.
I hope you will all join me in wishing Ray Sarkis well and know we will always welcome him back through our doors.
Thank you, Ray!
With all my heart,
Michele
