March 8 is International Women’s Day, a global day recognized by the UN to celebrate women’s and girls’ social, economic, cultural, and political achievements and bring attention to issues around gender equality and women’s rights.

This year’s International Women’s Day is themed around Embracing Equity, and to celebrate, the Centre for Organizational Excellence (COE) is hosting a  panel event with four inspiring NC employees who contribute to equity right here on campus: Elysia Dardarian, Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Coordinator; Leah Hogan, Associate Director, Indigenous Education; Sam Jemison, NCSAC President; and Jamie Oresar, Professor, School of Academic and Liberal Studies.

During the event, panelists will discuss the work they do at NC, what drives their commitment and passion, how they demonstrate this year’s theme of embracing equity in their work, and how they hope to make a positive impact through their role. There will also be a Q & A period where participants will have the opportunity to ask panelists questions.

The hybrid panel event, open to employees and students, will take place on March 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus, room N018. Those unable to attend the event in person can participate virtually via Zoom.

We hope you will join us in celebrating the wonderful women within our NC community and beyond!
