A message from Michael Wales, Director, Communications:
I’m writing to provide an update on the Corporate Communications team, which has seen growth, new team members, and new roles for existing team members over the past several months.
Most recently, Alyssa Milana joined the department December 5 as Communications Coordinator. Alyssa comes to the College from Golin, a PR agency in Toronto, where she was a Senior Associate. As Communications Coordinator, Alyssa supports the department through the daily management of the department’s key communications channels for College news and information – including InsideNC – while providing administrative support to the team.
Elyse Howarth moved into the new role of Communications Writer in October, 2022. Elyse joined the College in 2018 as Donor and Alumni Relations Communications Assistant in the Development and Alumni Relations department, and served as Communication Specialist in the Corporate Communications department on a temporary basis from 2020 to 2022. As the department’s full-time writer, Elyse helps to tell the Niagara College story through a full range of written communications products – from stories, profiles and features to project-based writing.
This past spring, Jessica Torok took on the new role of Communications Consultant, providing a full range of communications counsel and services to a portfolio of internal clients – including the College Operations division, President’s Office, Media Trades and Technology Division, Teaching and Learning Innovation and Student Rights and Responsibilities. Jessica joined the College in 2018 as Communications Specialist. She joins Courtney DeCaire and Julie Greco as the department’s full-time consultants.
