Hi all,

We are officially two months in to our NC Cares United Way workplace campaign. Thank you to the generosity of everyone who has supported to date, raising $36,200 towards a $50,000 goal.

With only a short time left in the campaign, there is no better time than the present to join your colleagues with your support. Every employee donation brings us a step closer to achieving our workplace goal – a goal that we have proven is achievable when we are NCTogether.

As President Kennedy mentioned at Niagara Day, our annual workplace campaign is a source of pride for our NC community. Our collective impact helps to further the reach of the United Way by strengthening its critical connection to local agencies that provide essential, and often life-changing, programs to individuals, children and families in need.

In its 2021 Impact Report, United Way Niagara reported:

  • 75,590 individuals in Niagara accessed programs that address poverty and homelessness
  • 68,543 individuals in Niagara access programs that aim to empower youth and families
  • 50,315 individuals in Niagara accessed food programs
  • 41,424 individuals in Niagara accessed programs that address mental health and/or addictions

Historically, the majority of dollars raised for our NC Cares workplace campaign is contributed through payroll deduction. Our online payroll deduction portal provides an easy and quick way for employees to donate. Donations from previous NC Cares campaigns are not automatically rolled over year-to-year, so individual donations are needed annually.

If you haven’t yet donated to this year’s campaign, I encourage you to please take a few minutes today to give what you can.

I’ll close by paying homage to one of my favourites, Michigan Wolverines coach Bo Schembechler: “the team, the team, the team!…We’re going to win it as a team.”

Thanks, take care,

Marc.
