Live entertainment, local food, and cultural performances are just a few of the things awaiting visitors to Niagara Place as the 2022 Canada Summer Games moves through its second and final week in Niagara.
Niagara Place is the football field-sized festival site that’s been set up at Canada Games Park, located adjacent to Brock University’s main campus. Each day, a line-up of live music, art exhibits, and vendors give visitors a unique way to experience the Games. Admission to the venue is free and open to everyone.
A number of activations have also been set up at Niagara Place, including:
A Francophone pavilion – a place for participants and visitors to drop in and say “Bonjour,” no matter how they say it. This week’s musical entertainment includes a performance by Suzanah Taylor on August 16, the L’Orchestre de St-Jean-de-Brebeuf on August 19, and Gilles Groleau on August 18 and 20. The pavilion is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Niagara Region Metis Council – promoting the historical values, culture, language and traditions of the Metis Nation.
Six Nations of the Grand River – showcasing the traditional values of the Haudenosaunee people.
The Niagara Place Event Stage will run non-stop throughout the week with a variety of performances that will keep audiences entertained and showcase local and visiting talent, including Chorus Niagara Children’s Choir and the Niagara Symphony Orchestra Trio. Stop by for Drag Queen Story Time or for the Norm Foster Play Reading. There’s something for everyone.
