A message from David Atherton, dean, Academic and Liberal Studies and Rebecca Nicholls, associate dean, Workforce Development and Community Programs:
Academic and Liberal Studies is pleased to welcome Brett Stevens to our Academic Upgrading team as Math and English Professor – Academic Upgrading – School of Access Studies.
Brett has been with Niagara College as a professor since 2009, in the Academic Upgrading program within the School of Academic and Liberal Studies. Brett has also taught at Mohawk College, teaching economics and personal financial management. Brett holds a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts (major in Mathematics) from Lakehead University, as well as a Master of Education in Studies in Teaching and Learning from Ottawa University.
Brett has also worked in a variety of support staff roles at Niagara College, including as a job developer and employment consultant with Community Employment Services. In these roles, Brett has supported job seekers and employers in the community to explore options and achieve their employment goals. His focus on helping people take the next path in their career and/or educational journey and achieve success is foremost in his day to day work. He will continue making a positive impact in the lives of the Academic Upgrading students in his new role.
