A message from Michael Audibert, Board Operations Manager and Chief Returning Officer:
Hafsah Shaikh has been elected as the Administrative Representative on the Niagara College Board of Governors for the following term: September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2025.
Hafsah holds a Master of Arts Degree in Child and Youth Studies from Brock University. She began her career at Niagara College in 2013 as a Student Conduct Officer in the Student Services division. Over the past decade, she has led significant growth in her area by establishing the Student Rights and Responsibilities Office (SRRO).
In her current role as the Manager of the SRRO, she leads a team of skilled administrative specialists that conduct investigations under the College’s Student Code of Conduct. She also oversees the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response portfolio, which includes the widely recognized Consent is Key campaign.
Hafsah is very passionate about policy development and led the process for the creation and implementation of the College’s Student Code of Conduct and Sexual Violence Policy. She is also deeply committed to social responsibility and civic engagement within our local community. In 2020, she was appointed as a citizen member on Niagara Region’s first ever Women’s Advisory Committee and currently serves on the Board of Directors at Women’s Place (a local women’s shelter). She is thrilled to bring her student advocacy approach to her role at the Board.
Please join me in congratulating Hafsah and wishing her well in her new role.
