On April 19, The Niagara Independent posted an article about a $1.2 million provincial grant for NC and the Niagara Homebuilders Association to create a new Construction Skills certificate program. The program will accept 80 unemployed and underemployed individuals, who will receive technical training in roofing or drywall installation at NC, as well as paid job placements with Niagara employers. The initiative is meant to address the shortage of skilled workers in the construction industry.
